About the project
It is now recognized that eating disorders are a public health problem with serious social, clinical and economic consequences. Increasing numbers of people now suffer from an eating disorder. Even though there have been significant improvements, effective interventions and treatment outcomes are still insufficient in eating disorders.

Therefore, it is important to make progress and to understand the mechanisms behind food intake in both healthy people and patients.
To do so, the CogniTastED project promotes a shift in the field’s priorities to policy translation research using an experimental psychopathology approach to investigate the learning mechanisms of eating disorders. Then, these potential mechanisms can be tested in the laboratory under highly controlled and standardized conditions. Such high quality data would allow us to develop more effective interventions.
